1. Studio Lore Venus and Mars was recorded partly in New Orleans, giving Wings a looser American studio flavor after the stripped-down trio setup of Band on the Run.
2. Band Drama The album introduced the expanded McCartney/Laine/McCartney/McCulloch/English lineup, setting up Wings’ mid-70s arena peak and the massive Wings Over America era.
3. Personal Struggle Jimmy McCulloch’s time in Wings was short and intense; he left before the decade ended and died in 1979 at only 26, cutting off one of the band’s flashiest young guitar voices.
