Cultural Facts:

1. Personal Struggle: Stewart made this after years of odd jobs, failed groups, and the Jeff Beck Group falling apart, still not yet a solo star or fully settled into Faces.

2. Studio Lore: The U.S. title changed the stranger UK name, An Old Raincoat Won’t Ever Let You Down, into plain self-branding for Mercury buyers.

3. Family Ties: Ron Wood played heavily on the album, tying Stewart’s solo debut directly to the Faces circle before that band fully became his second home.
