Description: Re-Flex, a London-based band, broke through with The Politics of Dancing, their debut LP and title single that became a global hit in 1983–84. The track hit the Billboard Hot 100 and U.K. charts, riding the MTV-driven wave of synthpop’s international rise. Produced by John Punter (who worked with Roxy Music and Japan), the record’s polished electronic sound and political undertones reflected Cold War tensions and early ’80s club culture. Though the band only issued one full studio album, this release remains a cult favorite of the synth-driven era.
