1. Early Days: This WERS radio session happened before Pixies had even recorded their famous Purple Tape demo. The set already contained songs that would become Come On Pilgrim and Surfer Rosa, capturing the band before a record deal or international audience existed. (Spotify)

2. Family Ties: Soon after this performance, Black Francis borrowed $1,000 from his father to finance the band's first proper studio recordings. Francis later said his father had not been around much during his childhood and believed the financial help was partly his father's attempt to make up for lost time.
