Grin – Grin

 Title: Grin – Grin
Year/Genre: 1971, Classic  Rock
Matrix #: Z 30321
Condition: VG+ some wear, sounds great

Description: Grin was formed in Washington, D.C. by Nils Lofgren, who was just 19 when this debut was cut. Recorded in Los Angeles with Neil Young’s producer David Briggs, the sessions reflect the close ties Lofgren had already built with Young—he had played piano on After the Gold Rush the year before. The band’s early work documents a moment before Lofgren became a longtime E Street Band guitarist, making this record an overlooked snapshot of a transitional era between the folk-rock 1960s and the harder rock sound of the 1970s.
