Description: This live version of “Mony Mony,” originally a 1968 hit by Tommy James & the Shondells, became one of Billy Idol’s biggest chart-toppers when it hit No. 1 in the U.S. in 1987. Capturing the raw, rebellious energy of Idol’s live shows, the performance channels his punk roots from the London scene while embracing the stadium rock spectacle of the MTV era. The track became infamous for crowd participation chants at concerts and parties, adding to its cultural footprint as a late-’80s rock anthem.
