Duane Eddy - Twistin' 'N' Twangin'
Title: Duane Eddy - Twistin' 'N' Twangin'
Year/Genre: 1962, Instrumental Rock, Rockabilly, 10/26
Matrix #: LSP-2525
Condition: NM (LM) | Cover: VG | Members: Duane E (38' - 24') | Producer: Lee Hazlewood
Cultural Facts:
- The Echo Came From a Junkyard Water Tank: Producer Lee Hazlewood bought a 2,000-gallon water tank at a Phoenix junkyard, put a speaker at one end and a microphone at the other, and fed Eddy's guitar through it. That echo became his sound.
- The Yells Came From Another Group: The rebel yells and hand claps on "Rebel-'Rouser" weren't Eddy's band. They were added later in Los Angeles by the Sharps, a vocal group that went on to become the Rivingtons of "Papa-Oom-Mow-Mow" fame.
- Married to a Future Outlaw Queen: In 1962, the year this album came out, Eddy married singer Mirriam Johnson, who toured with him for years. After they divorced in 1968 she went back to Phoenix, married Waylon Jennings and became country star Jessi Colter.
