Title: Frank Sinatra - Sinatra And Strings
Year/Genre/Sub-Genre/City: 1962, Vocal Jazz, Orchestral Traditional Pop, Hoboken, New Jersey 6/26
Matrix #: N/A
Condition: VG+ (LM) | Members: Frank S (15' - 98')
Cultural Facts:

  1. Personal Struggle: Sinatra’s early-50s collapse left him with vocal damage, lost bookings, suicide attempts, and the public wreckage of his Ava Gardner marriage before he rebuilt his myth.

  2. Studio Lore: Arranger Don Costa wrapped Sinatra in huge string charts, giving the Reprise era a darker, more cinematic ballad sound than his swing-heavy Capitol image.

  3. Media Narrative: Coming early in Sinatra’s own-label years, the LP helped prove Reprise could carry adult pop with class, control, and full ownership of the Sinatra brand.
