2. K-Tel Specialized in Stuffing Hits Together: K-Tel became famous for heavily advertised compilations that squeezed numerous popular songs onto one LP, giving listeners a cheap way to own hits from many different labels without buying every original album.
3. The Canadian Version Was Completely Different: K-Tel also issued Pure Rock in Canada in 1981, but with a substantially different track list featuring acts like Kansas, Aerosmith, Rush, Cheap Trick and April Wine. The shared title actually represents two very different regional compilations.
