Matrix #: N/A
Condition: New (LM) | Members: The Smiths (N/A)
Cultural Facts:

1. The Smiths Hit No. 1 After Breaking Up: Best... I arrived five years after the band split and went straight to No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart, proving their audience had only grown since the breakup.
2. Dennis Hopper Shot the Cover: The sleeve uses actor and photographer Dennis Hopper's 1961 image Biker Couple. Hopper's stark black-and-white photography fit perfectly with the visual language the Smiths had built around vintage cinema and outsider culture.
3. “This Charming Man” Came Back Bigger: WEA reissued “This Charming Man” to promote the compilation, and it reached No. 8 in the UK - higher than the song had charted during the Smiths' original run.
