Cultural Facts:

1. An Underground Lennon Time Capsule: Issued unofficially by Bag Records in 1981, The Toy Boy mixes demos, alternate takes, live recordings and oddities from both Lennon's Beatles and solo years, making it the kind of pre-internet rarity collection collectors depended on before archival material became widely available.
2. Lennon Jokes About the Bootleg: One version of “I Saw Her Standing There” comes from a 1974 session with Elton John and includes Lennon jokingly introducing it with a reference to “bootleg number 5069” - remarkably matching this record's BAG 5069 catalog number.
3. It Came With a Lennon Scrapbook: The limited edition originally included a 12-page booklet filled with photographs spanning Lennon's life, along with poems and song lyrics. That elaborate homemade-style packaging helped turn the release into more than just a collection of unauthorized recordings.
