Album Description

Released in 1978, Urban Desire captures Genya Ravan at the intersection of New York punk, blues-rock, and power pop. Featuring a guest appearance by Lou Reed on "Aye Co'lorado," the album delivers gritty guitar-driven rock alongside a charged reinterpretation of the Supremes' "Back in My Arms Again." Ravan produced the album herself, bringing together musicians from New York's thriving downtown scene. Standouts include "Jerry's Pigeons," "Cornered," and her cover of John Cale's "Darling, I Need You."
