1. Their First Album Without Syd: More was the first Pink Floyd album made entirely without founding member Syd Barrett. By 1969 David Gilmour was fully integrated, and the band was figuring out what Pink Floyd could become without the songwriter who had originally defined them.

2. A Film Score Made Fast: Director Barbet Schroeder asked the band to score his film More, and Pink Floyd wrote and recorded the music in a remarkably compressed period. The soundtrack pushed them into everything from acoustic folk to heavy proto-metal and eerie instrumental pieces because the songs had to serve scenes rather than a normal album concept.

3. The Heavy Side of Floyd: “The Nile Song” and “Ibiza Bar” are among the heaviest tracks Pink Floyd ever recorded.
