Title: Eric Clapton - Eric Clapton
Year/Genre/Sub-Genre/City: 1970, Blues Rock, Roots Rock, Ripley, England 7/26
Matrix #: ATCO SD-33-329
Condition: EX (LM) | Members: Eric C (45' - Alive)
Cultural Facts:

  1. Personal Struggle: Clapton was falling deeply in love with Pattie Boyd, then married to George Harrison, an obsession that soon fueled Layla and years of emotional damage.
  2. Studio Lore: Delaney Bramlett produced the sessions and surrounded Clapton with Delaney & Bonnie’s road band, including Leon Russell, Bobby Whitlock, and future Derek and the Dominos players.
  3. Media Narrative: After Cream and Blind Faith, this solo debut deliberately pulled Clapton away from guitar-god excess toward gospel, country, soul, and a more relaxed American roots sound.
