Cultural Facts:

1. Roadie Before Rap Star: Before Bad Boy, Craig Mack toured with fellow Long Island crew EPMD as a roadie, helping DJ Scratch set up equipment. He went from carrying gear for one of New York's biggest rap groups to landing his own national hit only a few years later.
2. Bad Boy's First Artist: Mack freestyled for Sean Combs outside a Manhattan club and impressed him enough to land a deal. He became the first artist signed to the newly formed Bad Boy Records, making his success crucial to the label before The Notorious B.I.G. became its defining superstar.
3. Q-Tip Steps In: This 12-inch includes a remix produced by A Tribe Called Quest's Q-Tip, who also contributes a guest verse. It paired Mack's rough, animated delivery with one of the era's most inventive producers during the brief period when Bad Boy's raw early sound was still taking shape.
