1. Cipollina After Quicksilver: Copperhead was formed by guitarist John Cipollina after leaving Quicksilver Messenger Service. The band pushed toward a tougher, more R&B-heavy rock sound than his former group and became part of the early-’70s Bay Area club circuit.
2. A Columbia Deal That Fell Apart Fast: Copperhead signed with Columbia Records during Clive Davis’s tenure, but Davis was forced out shortly after the album appeared. The label subsequently dropped several Bay Area acts connected to his signing spree, leaving Copperhead’s debut with little promotional support.
3. Their Only Studio Album: Despite extensive live activity, this became Copperhead’s sole studio LP.
