Description: Released in 1956 on Mercury, this album represents the early moment when major labels tried to package rock ’n’ roll for mainstream audiences unfamiliar with its rawer roots. Claude Cloud and His Orchestra offered orchestrated, dance-friendly versions of the new genre, reflecting the industry’s attempts to tame rock’s rebellious energy for ballrooms and living rooms. For collectors, it’s a curious and rare example of how record companies framed rock as both youth culture and adult entertainment during its first commercial wave.
