1. Capitol Wanted a Different Band: Bang had built their reputation on crushing proto-metal, but by Music Capitol was pushing them hard toward commercial pop. Frank Ferrara later said the label even told them they needed something like Helen Reddy's “I Am Woman,” helping explain why this album sounds dramatically more melodic than their earlier records.

2. Teenagers Chasing Sabbath: Frank Ferrara and guitarist Frank Gilcken had been playing together since they were about 14. After Woodstock, they placed an ad looking for a drummer, found Tony Diorio, and formed Bang while still obsessed with the new heaviness coming from bands like Black Sabbath.

3. Springsteen Opened for Them: During Bang's early-'70s touring years, a still-unknown Bruce Springsteen played an acoustic opening set for them at a Richmond, Virginia show. Bang were the established Capitol hard-rock act that night, years before Springsteen became the household name.
