Cultural Facts:

1. Personal Struggle: Lowell George’s cocaine use, heavy drinking, and worsening health increasingly shadowed the band before his fatal heart attack at 34 in 1979.
2. Band Drama: George’s control was starting to loosen as Paul Barrere and Bill Payne pushed Little Feat deeper into jazz, funk, and group-written material.
3. Album Art: Neon Park continued the band’s surreal visual identity, making the sleeve feel like strange American roadside mythology rather than ordinary Southern rock packaging.
