Title: Van Morrison - Moondance
Year/Genre/Sub-Genre/City: 1970, R&B, Celtic Soul, Belfast, Northern Ireland 5/26
Matrix #: WS-1835
Condition: EX sounds amazing (VZ) | Members: Van M (45' - Alive)
Cultural Facts:

  1. Personal Struggle: Morrison left Belfast for the U.S. after Them, carrying contract fights and exile-like distance from home into his early solo work.
  2. Studio Lore: Moondance was built with jazz-trained players in Woodstock, giving Morrison a looser band feel after the more private Astral Weeks sessions.
  3. Media Narrative: The album turned Morrison from cult mystic into a broader singer-songwriter figure, without fully sanding down his difficult, private edge.
