Cultural Facts:

1. She Was the Voice Behind the Stars: Before her solo breakthrough, Coolidge was an in-demand backing singer for artists including Joe Cocker, Eric Clapton, Leon Russell and Delaney & Bonnie. She was part of the loose group of musicians surrounding Cocker's famously chaotic Mad Dogs & Englishmen tour.
2. Boz Scaggs Gave Her a Signature Song: “We're All Alone” had first appeared on Boz Scaggs' Silk Degrees. Coolidge's 1977 version became a major international hit and helped turn Anytime... Anywhere into the biggest-selling album of her career.
3. Her Marriage Was Part of the Outlaw-Country Story: Coolidge was married to Kris Kristofferson from 1973 to 1980, and the two recorded and toured together while both maintained solo careers. Their relationship produced two duet albums and placed Coolidge directly inside the singer-songwriter and outlaw-country scene of the 1970s.
