Description: By the time Cosmo’s Factory was released in 1970, Creedence Clearwater Revival were churning out hits so quickly that they released three albums in a single year. Despite their distinctly Southern swamp rock sound, all four members were from the San Francisco Bay Area and had never lived in the South—proving that atmosphere and storytelling could transcend geography. The album’s title came from drummer Doug “Cosmo” Clifford’s nickname and the band’s warehouse rehearsal space, which frontman John Fogerty ruled with near-military discipline, running the band through daily, hours-long practices until every song was airtight.
