Title: Agression - Don't Be Mistaken
Year/Genre/Sub-Genre/City: 1983, Hardcore Punk, Nardcore Skate Punk, Oxnard, California 10/26
Condition: New (BC) | Members: Agression (N/A) | Producer: Agression, Kenny Felton
Cultural Facts:

1. Real Skate Rats: Before Agression was even a band, vocalist Mark Hickey, guitarist Henry Knowles and bassist “Big” Bob Clark all skated for the Sims skateboard team in the late '70s. They were not punk guys borrowing skate imagery later, they were actual skaters who helped fuse the two cultures from the inside.
2. Skate-Punk Blueprint: “Intense Energy” is considered one of the earliest punk songs specifically about skateboarding and skate culture. Agression even called their own sound “Speed Rock” before terms like skate punk and Nardcore became widely established.
3. Iconic Cover: The Don't Be Mistaken cover shows Arthur Lake skating a swimming pool, photographed by legendary skate and punk photographer Glen E. Friedman. A real skater, a real pool and one of the defining photographers of underground culture all landed on the same early Oxnard hardcore record.
