Title: beabadoobee - Pylon
Year/Genre/Sub-Genre/City: 2026, Alternative Rock, Grunge Midwest Emo, London, England 10/26
Condition: New (BC) | Members: beabadoobee (00' - ) | Producers: beabadoobee, Jason Vance Harris
Cultural Facts:
- Life-Changing Guitar: Beatrice Laus was kicked out of school at 17, and her father brought home a second-hand guitar because he thought she looked depressed and needed something to focus on. She taught herself through YouTube, wrote “Coffee” almost immediately, and the distraction her dad bought her became the start of her entire career.
- Immigrant Childhood: Bea was born in Iloilo City, Philippines and moved to London with her parents at age three. She has spoken about feeling isolated as one of very few Asian students at her predominantly white Catholic school, while her family was also adjusting to the financial strain of starting over in Britain.
- Heroes Become Bandmates: Pylon pulls in musicians Bea once listened to as a fan, including Hayley Williams, Chino Moreno, Brendan Yates, Shane Moran and Evan Stephens Hall. Hall's involvement is especially full-circle because Bea has a Pinegrove tattoo, turning one of her teenage musical obsessions into an actual collaborator on her fourth album.
