Title: Ween – Shinola, Vol. 1
Year/Genre: 2005, Alternative Rock
Condition: New (brown vinyl RSD edition)
Cultural Facts:
Ween began in the mid-’80s as a bedroom project between New Hope, Pennsylvania teenagers Aaron Freeman and Mickey Melchiondo, inventing their own deity “Boognish” to preside over the band’s universe.
Across their catalog they’ve gleefully blown up genre rules—releasing everything from lo-fi tape experiments to a full Nashville country record cut with veteran session players.
On tour in the ’90s, they were notorious for stretching “Poop Ship Destroyer” into long, punishing noise jams when the crowd was hostile, turning it into a running dare between band and audience.
